The Pavāraṇā Ceremony is a meaningful annual tradition observed on the final day of Vassa. On this occasion, members of the Saṅgha gather together and invite admonition from one another. They will ask their fellow Saṅgha members whether they have seen, heard, or suspected any faults during the retreat period. Through this practice of humility and accountability, the Saṅgha strengthens harmony and purity within the community.

This year, nearly 25 monks and nuns will be participating in the Pavāraṇā Ceremony. Lay devotees are also attended, to witness this rare and beautiful tradition, to:

  • offered the four requisites to the monastic community,
  • joined in the Dhamma sharing and group practice afterwards.

Let us rejoice in this meritorious occasion and the joy of the Dhamma together.
