Date: 29-Aug-25 to 1-Sep-2025
Venue: Dhamma Earth Kuala Lumpur
From 29 August to 1 September 2025, during the National Day long weekend, Dhamma Earth Kuala Lumpur hosted a meaningful 4-day, 3-night meditation retreat. Together with 40 meditators and 15 volunteers, participants set aside the busyness of daily life and embarked on a journey of returning to the heart, cultivating calmness and mindfulness.
Every detail in the program was infused with elements of practice:
- Rising early to study the Dhamma, training awareness and concentration
- Sitting meditation, walking meditation, chanting, and observing precepts to experience purity of body and mind
- Compassionate teachings by Venerable Bhante, answering participants’ doubts
- Acts of service and group practice, realizing that daily life itself can be a field of cultivation
On this journey, there were hearts inspired to continue practice, touching moments of volunteers’ selfless dedication, and sincere sharing by participants:
- “The overall experience was wonderful, and it strengthened my resolve to keep progressing.”
- “This was my first meditation retreat. I was deeply touched seeing volunteers so exhausted they fell asleep, yet they still kept serving.”
- “Bhante’s teachings helped me understand that practice is not only about meditation, but also about facing life with hope.”
- “The Q&A sessions were very rewarding. Bhante patiently answered our questions—simple, yet profound.”
- “During the individual interviews, being able to converse with a wise teacher let me feel the clarity and simplicity of a practitioner’s heart.”
Some took home peace,
some took home wisdom,
some learned to bring hope into daily practice,
and some found renewed determination to keep walking this path.
Meditation is not about escaping reality, but learning not to lose ourselves in the midst of life.
When the heart settles, the world becomes clear and gentle. At the next retreat, may you also place yourself into this peace, clarity, and strength.
Meditation is the way home — a return to the purity and freedom of the heart.
