In 2020, Dhamma Earth once again undertook a sacred journey to the land where the Buddha once walked — India. This 2 week pilgrimage was more than a visit to historical sites; it was a spiritual return to the roots of the Dhamma, a deepening of faith, and an opportunity to walk mindfully in the footsteps of the Blessed One.

We paid homage at the Four Great Holy Sites —
Lumbinī, where the Bodhisatta was born;
Bodhgayā, where he attained Enlightenment;
Sarnath, where he set the Wheel of Dhamma in motion;
and Kusinārā, where he entered Parinibbāna.

In addition to these holy places, Dhamma Earth monastics and laity also visited the Taj Mahal and explored the spiritual heritage of Ajanta and Ellora Caves, with their ancient Buddhist carvings and murals.

The holy sites are living reminders of the Dhamma’s enduring light. For those who walk the spiritual path, such a pilgrimage inspires not only reflection and gratitude — but a renewed commitment to liberation.
