Growing up in the digital age, children can easily become absorbed in screens and lose their sense of calm and focus.

To help them learn stillness, mindfulness, and emotional awareness,

the Mangala Family Sunday Programme held the Children’s Meditation Retreat at DEKL Kuala Lumpur last Sunday,

with about 44 children joyfully participating.

Under the guidance of Bhante Pannasami,

the children spent a meaningful and peaceful half-day together.

The retreat aimed to help them, amidst the temptations and pressures of modern life,

connect with the Dhamma from an early age,

and nurture hearts of mindfulness, concentration, and compassion.

The programme was rich and engaging — including ice-breaking, mindful hiking, candle offering, Dhamma sharing and guided meditation, mindful meal offering, and children’s yoga —

allowing the children to experience awareness, gratitude, and calmness in a joyful and relaxed atmosphere.

Meanwhile, teenagers joined the Date with Dhamma and mindful hiking,

while parents attended Dhamma talks, made offerings, and joined guided meditation at the monastery.

It was a joyful day of family practice — learning, meditating, and sharing peace together in the gentle flow of compassion.

May every child find inner calm through meditation,

let mindfulness become their strength,

and compassion their guiding light.

Sādhu! Sādhu! Sādhu!
