From 3 to 6 March 2026, Dhamma Earth Kuching had the great honor of welcoming Sayadaw U Kumārābhivaṃsa for a series of Dhamma propagation activities.

The Sayadaw is one of the meditation masters who possesses both profound academic scholarship (Pariyatti) and deep meditative experience (Paṭipatti). Upon the arrival of the Sayadaw and the accompanying Saṅgha, they were received by Monks, Sayalays and lay devotees with hearts full of reverence and joy.

During his visit to Malaysia, Sayadaw led morning chanting and group meditation sessions at Dhamma Earth Kuching. He compassionately delivered Dhamma talks and answered practitioners’ questions, providing a rare and precious opportunity for local devotees to draw close to a noble spiritual teacher, listen to the true Dhamma, cultivate merit, and grow in wisdom. We also express our gratitude to Venerable U Maṅgala for serving as the translator, rendering the Sayadaw’s English teachings into Chinese so that the wider community could deeply understand the wisdom of the Buddha’s teachings.

A solemn and auspicious Higher Ordination ceremony (Upasampadā) was also held during this period. With the Sayadaw serving as the Preceptor (Upajjhāya) and presiding over the Bhikkhu ordination, two novices (Sāmaṇeras) successfully and according to the Dhamma-Vinaya received the Higher Ordination within the pure and harmonious Saṅgha. The ceremony was conducted with great dignity and purity, and the Saṅgha’s mindful deportment inspired joy and appreciation among the witnessing devotees. To have such a rare and noble occasion successfully fulfilled locally is truly a blessing that is difficult to encounter.

At the same time, devotees from near and far came forward enthusiastically to offer breakfast, lunch, and the four requisites to the Saṅgha, while also rejoicing in the wholesome deeds of others—collectively practicing the Ten Meritorious Deeds (Dasa Puññakiriya Kiriya) taught by the Buddha. These various wholesome actions serve as essential provisions for the growth of merit and wisdom.

We hereby rejoice in the merits of all Dhamma friends and devotees who participated in and supported these activities. May all the wholesome karma accumulated during this time lead to peace and happiness, serve as sustenance for the growth of Virtue (Sīla), Concentration (Samādhi), and Wisdom (Paññā), and become the supporting conditions for the future attainment of liberation and the realization of Nibbāna.

May the True Dhamma endure long in the world; may the Buddha’s teachings be widely propagated to benefit all sentient beings. May this auspicious Dhamma occasion serve as a starting point for more people to draw close to noble friends, hear the true Dhamma, and plant the seeds of liberation.

Sādhu! Sādhu! Sādhu!
