From 6 to 9 March 2026, Dhamma Earth Kuala Lumpur was blessed with a truly auspicious occasion. Sayadaw U Kumārābhivaṃsa, a renowned Burmese meditation master possessing both top-tier academic scholarship (Pariyatti) and profound meditative experience (Paṭipatti), graced us with a Dhamma visit alongside four accompanying bhikkhus. This visit offered Malaysian devotees a precious and rare opportunity to cultivate both merit and wisdom.
Event Highlights: Four Days of Dhamma Joy
Day 1: Compassionate Arrival and First Admonition Upon his safe arrival, the Sayadaw compassionately delivered an Ovāda (admonition) to the resident community. With Venerable U Maṅgala providing on-site translation, the pure Dhamma teachings touched the hearts of all present, marking a serene and dignified beginning to this journey.
Day 2: Observing Precepts and Cultivating Merits Participants took part in various meritorious activities, including the undertaking of precepts, chanting of suttas, a bird-release activity, and the offering of the Four Requisites. The Sayadaw’s discourse helped devotees strengthen their confidence in the True Dhamma while accumulating wholesome seeds for the future.
Day 3: Grand Offering and Practical Wisdom The day was marked by a spectacular Grand Offering (Mahā Dāna) to approximately 38 members of the Sangha. The Sayadaw delivered profound discourses on the Dīghajāṇu Sutta and Saṅkhārupapatti Sutta, teaching laypersons how to achieve happiness in this life and explaining how the five qualities—Faith, Virtue, Learning, Generosity, and Wisdom—empower one’s wholesome aspirations.
Day 4: Concluding Farewell and Lasting Inspiration Following the final morning breakfast offering, the community gathered with gratitude to bid farewell to the Sayadaw and the Sangha. Although the visit was brief, the Sayadaw’s clear and deep explanations of the Dhamma have left a lasting impression, guiding practitioners toward true well-being and liberation.
Rejoicing in Merits · May the True Dhamma Endure
The successful conclusion of this Dhamma journey was made possible by the devoted offerings of supporters and the selfless service of volunteers. May the merits of these wholesome deeds be shared with all beings. May everyone grow in merit and wisdom, be free from suffering, and progress steadily on the path to Nibbāna.
Sādhu! Sādhu! Sādhu!
