Dhamma Earth Kuala Lumpur: New Sīmā Hall and Monk Retreat Area Construction Plan
At the start of 2025, filled with vitality and harmony, Dhamma Earth KL officially launched the New Sīmā Hall and Monk Retreat Area Construction Plan to address the pressing challenges of inadequate facilities faced by monastics in their practice and Dhamma propagation.
During the Kathina celebration last year, we were honored to have the venerable Bhante Dhammasubho and Sayadaw U Kun preside over the Sīmā-setting ceremony at the proposed site of the New Sīmā Hall.
Sīmā refers to a designated area established by the monastic Sangha for conducting Sangha affairs. It symbolizes harmony and unity within the monastic community and is considered a sacred and tranquil space within a monastery.
This construction project has an estimated budget exceeding RM 2 million and is expected to be completed between 2025 and 2026. The project includes:
The Sīmā Hall, Stupa, and Bodhi Tree Platform- 12 Bhante kuti surrounding the Sīmā Hall
- Connecting roads and drainage systems
